“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” Phil 4:13

The Apostle Paul wrote these words from a prison cell. He wasn’t speaking in a moment of ease or triumph, but from a place of lack and suffering. Just before this famous verse, he says:

“I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.” Phil 4:12

Then comes your verse: “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

When we receive Jesus into our lives, the Spirit of God comes to empower and equip us. Never doubt your abilities as a child of God. Christ lives in you, and through Him you are able to accomplish great things. Don’t say you can’t when you have never even tried. There is a preacher in you, a motivational speaker, an author, a singer, a leader, a healer, gifts waiting to be activated.

And the LORD said unto Moses, See, I have called by name Bezalel… and I have filled him with the Spirit of God, in wisdom, in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship.” Exodus 31:2–3

God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind. So be confident in the person God is shaping you to become, and place your trust in what He is able to do through you. The challenges you face may seem overwhelming when you look at them alone, but you are never without His presence. The Spirit of God lives within you, leading you toward the good purposes He has prepared for your life.

Every time God calls you to step forward, He equips you. Bezalel could create beautiful works for the tabernacle because God had already given him the skills he needed. Just as God empowered Bezalel, He will empower you for every task He gives.

I never knew I could preach until I preached. I never knew I could heal the sick until I saw someone testify of God’s power through me. David faced giants, Peter walked on water, and Mary Magdalene became the first messenger of the resurrection. These were ordinary people who discovered extraordinary ability when they trusted God. Today I am confident because I have witnessed God working through me in real and powerful ways.

Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.” Ephesians 3:20

The same God is in you. He will use your hands, your voice, your creativity, and your courage to accomplish mighty things. Trust Him. Step out. God is going to do great things through you.

As I mentioned on Sunday, you are not ordinary when the Holy Spirit lives in you. You carry something divine within you. You are a different kind of person.

Daniel 11:32 reveals something very important: “And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries, but the people that do know their God shall be strong and do exploits.”

When you disregard the benefit of your covenant with God, the world will mock you with flattery. When confidence in God fades, insecurity grows. But the people that know their God shall be strong and do exploits.
