The wisdom that sustains creation is not in human power, strategy, or ingenuity; it rests entirely in God. He holds the universe together with a knowledge that is beyond measure. Hebrews 1:3 says:

“Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high.”

When you allow Christ to take hold of you, the same wisdom that created and sustains the universe becomes available to you. You are no longer relying on your own understanding, but tapping into the infinite counsel of the One who holds all things by the power of His word. Your decisions, your steps, and your life are now being guided by the eternal wisdom of God.

Young men who were healthy and handsome, intelligent and well-educated, good prospects for leadership positions in the government, perfect specimens, and indoctrinate them in the Babylonian language and the lore of magic and fortunetellingDaniel 1:4 (MSG).

Notice this: ignorance and dullness are not your portion. Being a child of God already makes you intelligent. Daniel and his friends were not only naturally gifted; they were found to be wiser and more insightful than everyone around them. Serving God sharpened their minds, made them brighter, and gave them understanding beyond the ordinary. There was no question they could not answer; no challenge they could not navigate.

Christianity does not make you dull or ordinary. It makes you wise. It equips you with understanding, insight, and mental clarity that cannot be matched. Mental failure is not your portion as a child of God. In fact, the psalmist declares:

I’ve even become smarter than my teachers since I’ve pondered and absorbed your counsel. I’ve become wiser than the wise old sages simply by doing what you tell me” Psalm 119:99-100 (MSG).

If you are in school or at work, expect nothing less than excellence. God’s word living in you makes you wiser than your teachers, wiser than your examiners, and wiser than any challenge you face. Wisdom is your inheritance; brilliance is your standard.

The spirit of excellence rested on Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah. Though they were young and in a foreign land, their dedication to God set them apart. Excellence was not just in their appearance or education; it flowed from their character, their discipline, and their commitment to honour God in all things. They became distinguished among the wise men of Babylon because God’s favour and wisdom were upon them. When the spirit of excellence rests on you, it elevates your work, sharpens your mind, and draws the attention of those around you.

When the religious leaders met the disciples, they noticed something striking. Though these men had not been formally trained or highly educated, their words and understanding revealed a depth that could not be taught in schools. They were so insightful and full of wisdom that it became clear they had been with Christ.

Being with Jesus transforms the mind. True intelligence is not just about degrees or books; it is about the Spirit of God working in you, giving discernment, understanding, and clarity beyond human learning. Just as the disciples amazed the learned teachers of their day, your mind, sharpened and guided by God, can rise above ordinary knowledge. Walk with Christ, immerse yourself in His word, and let His presence shape your understanding. Others will recognise that your intelligence is not merely human; it is divine.
