“…according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.Romans 12:3

Did you know that faith is already in you? The moment you received Christ, God deposited faith into your life. “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God” Ephesians 2:8. You have it. All that remains is to grow it.

Faith is the reason God answers your prayers. In John 14:13, Jesus assures us that whatever we ask in His name will be done, so that the Father may be glorified. The power of your prayers is rooted in the faith that lives in you. Perhaps the faith you have right now does not feel strong or complete but the first and most important step is recognising that it exists within you. “Even a faith as small as a mustard seed… nothing shall be impossible unto youMatthew 17:20. WOW! Jesus said that faith as tiny as a mustard seed can move mountains. The first step is recognising that your faith exists and trusting God with it.

So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.Romans 10:17

Spending time in the word and exercising your faith each day will help it grow. Every time you meditate on the scripture, your faith is strengthened and renewed. As 2 Peter 3:18 encourages, you are called to grow in grace and in the knowledge of Jesus Christ. Faith develops as you act on what you know of God and His promises. You do not need to wait until your faith is fully matured to step into the work of God or to trust Him for great things. “Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faithHebrews 10:22. Even the small measure of faith you hold now is enough to accomplish much. “Without faith it is impossible to please God” Hebrews 11:6

As you put your faith into action it will grow. Each prayer, each step of obedience and each moment of trust builds your faith, shaping you into a person who walks confidently in God’s promises. “But the just shall live by faithHabakkuk 2:4

What is one small step of faith you can take today trusting that God will multiply it as you act?
