Behold, the former things have come to pass, and new things I declare; before they spring forth I tell you of them. Sing to the Lord a new song, and His praise from the ends of the earth, you who go down to the sea, and all that is in it, you coastlands and you inhabitants of them!Isaiah 42:9-10

Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.” Isaiah 43:19

Today, remember that your ability to maximise a season is rooted in your understanding of who God is. He is the God of Times and Seasons, the one who has perfectly orchestrated the transition you are now in, for “To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven” Eccl 3:1.

Yesterday, I shared a testimony of how someone’s answered prayer cascaded into faith for new things around me and the above scripture became reality in my own current season. God asked me to expand on this for your benefit. We are serving a God of New Things, inherently creative and never out of fresh ideas, who declares, “Behold, I will do a new thing”. New season comes with new things from Him, and your expectation should be for new possibilities and divinely ordained deliveries.

However, I want you to know that your internal posture is crucial in the fulfilment of this promise. You must cultivate the right mindset, approaching with appreciation and not complaint, for gratitude is the spiritual lubricant for acceleration into your God-ordained future, while a complaining spirit ruins every opportunity before it even starts.

You have to understand and believe that your current transition isn’t a random occurrence; it is divinely orchestrated. He is in control of the clock and calendar of your life. He is the God of New Things. God is not repetitive or out of ideas. He is inherently creative and is always preparing something fresh and purposeful for you. So your rightful expectation is for new possibilities, open doors, and divine provision.

Truthfully, completely handing over your plans to God is the smartest move you can make; for nothing in His hands gets out of hand, goes wrong, remains the same, gets out of control, or is at risk. In His care, everything reaches its full potential!

A non-negotiable step for progress is to deliberately choose to forget the negative past, refusing to dwell on the emotions of bitterness, depression, and uncertainty that waste the present and ruin the future.

Paul said, “..But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.”

Let your faith be active, expecting this new season to be better than the last. Declare it with confidence, for your belief shapes your reality. Be open to and believe for the new possibilities and opportunities, for there is a divine budgetary allocation for every season. Just as a nation has a budget, God daily loads us with benefits, providing our daily bread (Psalm 68:19, Matthew 6:11).

In our text, God is telling us that He is doing a new thing. Remember that God always speaks before He acts; divine action is always preceded by divine communication. Your primary task is to position yourself to hear what He is declaring about this new season. And you know that this revelation always carries responsibility, for every word from God comes with a corresponding action you must take. It is the responsibility you exercise that brings out the possibilities within the revelation. The power, however, is in the promptness of your obedience; for obedience delayed becomes results denied, while prompt obedience makes struggle disappear and forces opposition to submit.

Heavenly Father, I thank you that you are doing a new thing. I surrender my plans and my past to you completely. Fill me with your Spirit, giving me the grace to forget what lies behind and to press forward in faith. Open my ears to hear your voice and quicken my spirit to obey promptly. I choose to believe that this new season will be better than the last, and I receive the new things you have ordained for me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
