“So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.” Colossians 2:6-7
We’re living in an age of noise. Expectations, pressure, comparison, and endless scrolling—we’re constantly being told who to be, how to succeed, what to chase, and why we’re not enough. It’s no wonder people—especially young people—feel lost, anxious, and exhausted.
But what if your purpose wasn’t something you had to earn or discover out there somewhere?
What if it was something already planted deep inside you, just waiting to take root?
The world is restless, but you don’t have to be.
You were created on purpose.
You have a solid, unshakable identity in Christ.
Even in the chaos, your life can carry deep meaning.
And through the Church, you can grow rooted, strong, and unmovable.
Let’s dig into the truth that sets us free from the hustle and anchors us in lasting purpose.
From the very beginning, God made you on purpose. You’re not random. You’re not a mistake. You’re not just here to survive—you’re here to reflect the image of God and to live out His mission on the earth. Genesis 1:26-28 says, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness… Be fruitful and multiply, fill the earth and subdue it…”
That means you were created with intention. You carry the fingerprint of the Creator. Your life has design. You matter not because of what you do, but because of who made you.
But if we’re honest, it’s easy to forget that. In a world that defines us by likes, labels, and performance, it’s tempting to measure our value by external things—appearance, popularity, success. That’s a trap. Because the truth is, your identity isn’t found in what others say or what you achieve—it’s found in Christ.
Ephesians 2:10 declares, “For we are God’s masterpiece, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.”
You are His masterpiece. Not a copy. Not a work-in-progress waiting to be accepted.
Already loved. Already chosen. Already enough in Him.
And yet—life is messy. Purpose doesn’t always feel clear. Some days feel confusing, painful, or even pointless. But here’s the hope: even the mess has meaning when your life is in God’s hands.
Romans 8:28 says, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”
All things. The heartbreak. The delays. The questions. The detours.
God wastes nothing. Even the parts you’d rather skip are part of the story He’s writing—a story filled with redemption, beauty, and impact.
But here’s the secret to truly growing into that story: you have to be rooted.
Not tossed by every new trend.
Not shaken by every opinion.
Not burned out trying to find your worth.
Rooted. In Christ. In truth. In community.
Colossians 2:6-7 challenges us, “So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him… strengthened in the faith.”
You grow strong not by striving, but by staying connected—to Jesus and His Church. The Church isn’t a side activity for Christians; it’s the soil where your purpose grows. In the Church, you discover your gifts, you’re strengthened by others, and you step into the mission God created you for.
So here’s the truth you can hold onto:
You don’t have to chase meaning. You can live rooted in it.
You were made by God, loved by Jesus, filled with purpose, and planted in a family where you can grow.
In a restless world, the most revolutionary thing you can do is plant your roots deep in Christ—and thrive.
