Government commits more funding to protect UK Muslims

The government has committed to providing UK Muslims with more than £117 million of protective security funding over the next 4 years. This must be one of the advise we have received to combat terrorism! Hatred on the basis of religion or belief, including anti-Muslim hatred, antisemitism and the persecution of Christians, is deplorable. But should UK government not maintain neutrality regarding religion of Islam? The UN OIC engagement and ruling being implemented is not impartial. It is actually discriminate to other religion.

“The right to adopt a religion or belief, to practise it without hindrance, to share your faith and to change your religion or beliefs are all key freedoms that everyone should be able to enjoy. The UK government is committed to defending freedom of religion or belief (FoRB) for all and promoting respect between different religious and non-religious communities.”

Promoting Muslim representation in the armed forces: The number of Islamic recruits in the UK armed forces has risen by over 40% since 2007, with Islamic religious adviser to the Ministry of Defence Imam Asim Hafiz stating that there is no contradiction between being of the Muslim faith and choosing to defend Britain.

What can you do about this as a christian:

pray for wisdom and guidance for government leaders to make decisions that uphold religious freedom and equality for all.

advocate for policies that promote religious freedom and equality. This can include engaging in peaceful protests, writing to government officials, and supporting organisations that work to protect religious liberties.

educate ourselves and others about the importance of religious freedom and the principles of neutrality in government. This can involve sharing information about relevant laws and rights.
