“In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matt 5:16
As followers of Christ, our lives are meant to be a reflection of His love, grace, and truth. Our actions should not only glorify God but also inspire those around us to seek Him more earnestly and serve Him wholeheartedly.
Jesus taught us that our good deeds should shine brightly before others, not to bring attention to ourselves, but to point people towards the Father in heaven. When we live with integrity, compassion, and humility, others are encouraged to dream more, learn more, and do more for Jesus.
Consider the example of the early church in Acts. The apostles and believers devoted themselves to teaching, fellowship, breaking of bread, and prayer (Acts 2:42). Their unity and dedication to Christ were so compelling that “the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved“ Acts 2:47.
In Col 3:17, the bible says to us to do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, acknowledging His lordship in all aspects of our lives. Whether we are at work, at home, or in our communities, our actions should reflect our faith in Christ and His transformative power.
When we aim for excellence in all we do, when we extend grace and kindness to others, when we speak truth with love, we become living testimonies of God’s goodness. This not only strengthens our own faith but also encourages those around us to deepen their relationship with Jesus.
Let us pray that God will empower us to be lights in this world, inspiring others by our example to dream bigger, learn more about God’s Word, and actively serve Him. May our lives continually point others to the abundant life found only in Jesus Christ.
