Questions to a person seeking to be baptised

1. Understanding of the Gospel

• What is the gospel, and what does it mean to you?
• How would you explain the message of Jesus Christ to someone else?
• What do you believe Jesus did for you through His death and resurrection?

2. Personal Faith in Jesus

• Do you believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that He died for your sins?
• Have you personally accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour?
• When did you make the decision to follow Jesus Christ, and what led to that decision?

3. Understanding of Salvation

• What does it mean to be saved?
• How does a person receive salvation, according to the Bible?
• Do you understand that baptism is not what saves you, but it is an outward symbol of the faith you have in Jesus Christ?

4. Repentance

• Have you repented of your sins and asked God for forgiveness?
• How has your life changed since you decided to follow Christ?

5. Understanding of Baptism

• Why do you want to be baptized?
• What do you believe baptism represents?
• Do you understand that baptism is an act of obedience, and it publicly declares your identification with Jesus Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection?
• Are you aware that baptism is for believers who have accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior?

6. Commitment to Discipleship

• Are you ready to commit to living a life that follows Jesus Christ and continues to grow as His disciple?
• What are you doing to grow in your faith (e.g., prayer, Bible reading, church involvement)?
• Are you committed to being an active member of the church and participating in the life of the congregation?

7. Expectations for Baptism

• What do you expect to happen during the baptism ceremony?
• How do you feel about publicly declaring your faith through baptism?
• What would you like others to understand about you through your baptism?

8. Church Community and Support

• Do you understand that baptism also means joining the Christian community and being accountable to one another as believers?
• Are you willing to seek guidance and support from the church as you continue to grow in your walk with Christ?
