God declares:
“Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.” Isaiah 43:19
Life often places us in situations that seem impossible to escape. We feel trapped, surrounded by problems, or blocked by barriers we cannot overcome. But the Bible reminds us again and again that God’s power is greater than any obstacle and that He makes a way where there seems to be none.
One of the most powerful examples is the Israelites crossing the Red Sea. Trapped between the Egyptian army and the vast waters, they had nowhere to run. Yet God told Moses to stretch out his hand over the sea, and the waters parted, creating a dry path for His people to walk through safely (Exodus 14). This moment is a vivid reminder that when God moves, no barrier is too big.
Similarly, Peter’s story in prison shows God’s power to break chains and open doors. Peter was held captive, guarded closely, and facing certain death (Acts 12). But during the night, an angel of the Lord appeared, causing his chains to fall off and leading him out past the guards — a miraculous escape that only God could orchestrate. When obstacles arise, God’s power can intervene suddenly and unexpectedly.
The story of Daniel in the lions’ den also reveals God’s protective power in the face of deadly opposition. Daniel was thrown into the den because of his faithfulness, yet God shut the mouths of the lions and preserved his life (Daniel 6). God’s power doesn’t just create paths; it also provides defence against destruction.
Even in smaller, everyday situations, God’s power makes a way. When a worker lost an iron axe head in the water, it seemed impossible to retrieve (2 Kings 6:1-7). But through Elisha’s prayer and God’s power, the axe head miraculously floated to the surface, showing that God cares about every detail and can bring breakthrough in any circumstance.
Psalm 18:29 encourages us, “For by thee I have run through a troop; and by my God have I leaped over a wall.” The same power that parted seas, opened prison doors, protected from lions, and recovered lost tools is at work in your life too.
If you feel trapped today, remember God’s power is greater than your situation. Trust Him to open the way, break your chains, and make a path where none seems to exist.
Prayer:
Lord, thank you that your power makes a way when there is no way. When I feel trapped, open the doors no one can see. When I face walls and chains, break them by your mighty hand. Help me trust your timing and your power to bring me through every challenge. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
