“For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God. For we know that the whole creation groans and labours with birth pangs together until now.” Romans 8:19,22

The entire world has endured suffering, oppression, and torment at the hands of the devil. Humanity, seeking liberation, groans in pain, yearning for deliverance.

What the world eagerly anticipates is the emergence of individuals, empowered by God, who will bring freedom and release to mankind. The world awaits these “sons of God,” who will dismantle wicked forces, liberating creation from the shackles of corruption and allowing the glorious freedom of God’s children. The entire creation collectively suffers, eagerly awaiting rescue from shame and reproach by these sons of God. Every born-again individual is a child of God, an heir, and a joint heir with Jesus.

However, without understanding our sonship, we cannot effectively wield our authority to fulfil the mandate of freeing the world from the devil. The key aspect of sonship is power—the power to reign and exercise authority. Although every born-again person possesses this power potential, it requires growth for actual manifestation.

It is inconceivable to crown a child as king at eight years old. Regardless of the rightful claim to the throne, the child must undergo the natural growth process until reaching adulthood. Similarly, as stated in Galatians 4:1, “an heir, while a child, differs little from a servant, despite being lord of all.” God entrusts authority not to children but to sons.

Today, embracing spiritual growth can lead to overcoming afflictions, finding success, and claiming our inheritance as mature sons of God. Peter urges us to nurture our spiritual maturity, akin to a child seeking the nourishing wisdom found in God’s Word.

as newborn babes, desire the pure milk of the word, that you may grow thereby.” 1 Peter 2:2

The prophet Isaiah declares in chapter 9:6 that a child is born, but a son is given. Jesus, born as a child, grew into His sonship, as seen in Luke 2:52. Upon the declaration of His sonship at the mount of transfiguration (Matthew 17:5), Jesus’ status changed. He ascended the throne, vested with heavenly authority and power, and whatever He commanded came to be. He went everywhere doing good—casting out demons, healing the sick, and raising the dead!

Growing old is inevitable, but growing up is a choice. You have to want to. Act on the word. Meditate on the word and act on the instructions and wisdom derived from it.
