“For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.” 2 Corinthians 4:6
Yesterday, we discussed the vulnerability of love—how it is open, transparent, and fully known, without a mask. In our text today, the Bible presents how God’s love progresses in the light to mend our souls.
God is light, and in Him, there is no darkness at all. From the beginning, mankind was created to walk in the presence of God, in perfect fellowship with Him. Yet, when Adam and Eve sinned, shame and fear entered their hearts, and they hid themselves. Sin always drives people into hiding, covering up, and pretending. But God, in His mercy, did not leave humanity in darkness. He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to set us free, to bring us out of hiding, and to restore us to Himself.
The enemy works through shame and accusation, whispering lies that tell us we are too far gone, too broken, too unworthy to stand before a holy God. But the truth is that God does not expose our faults to condemn us—He reveals them to cleanse, heal, and transform us. His light is not harsh; it is not meant to destroy but to purify. Just as He called Adam and Eve in the garden, He calls each of us to step out of the shadows and into His marvellous light.
Love walks in the light. To love is to live openly before God—without deception, without fear, without masks. The one who walks in love has nothing to hide because love is pure, sincere, and full of truth. When we abide in love, we abide in the light, and there is no stumbling in us. Jesus, the Light of the world, came to banish darkness, to break the chains of shame, and to bring us into the freedom of God’s presence.
Of course, the light reveals all things:
“But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light.” – Ephesians 5:13
But you are now children of light:
“For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light.” Ephesians 5:8
This is the call of every believer—to walk in truth, to reject the lies of the enemy, and to embrace the transforming power of God’s light. There is no need to hide. There is no need to fear. The love of God has made a way for us to come boldly before His throne, fully known, fully loved, and fully accepted in Christ. Step into the light, live in His truth, and let His love shine through you. The light of God is not something we fear; it is something we embrace. It is in His light that we find true freedom, healing, and restoration. The enemy wants us to believe that exposure leads to shame, but in Christ, exposure leads to transformation. He does not reveal our faults to condemn us but to cleanse us and bring us closer to Him.
As children of light, we are called to walk boldly, without fear, without pretense, and without masks. To love is to walk in the light, and to walk in the light is to walk in truth. When we abide in His love, we have nothing to hide because we are fully known and fully accepted in Christ.
Today, take a step out of the shadows and into the presence of God. Allow His truth to guide you, His love to cover you, and His light to shine through you. There is no need to hide. There is no need to fear. His love has made a way for you to walk in the light—so walk in it with confidence, knowing that you are His.
