Knowing God, as discussed in previous post, has different levels and depth. The goal is a deep and personal relationship that goes beyond just knowing about God. The Bible teaches that God reveals Himself to us through various ways.

First, God makes Himself known through creation. In Rom 1:20, the bible says that since the creation of the world, God’s invisible qualities—His eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, so that people are without excuse. Nature points to a Creator, showing His power, order, and beauty.

Second, God reveals Himself through His Word, the Bible. In the Scriptures, we learn about God’s character, His will, and His plans for humanity. In John 1:1, it says, “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” The Bible is central in guiding people to know who God is.

Third, God is known through His Son, Jesus Christ. In John 14:9, Jesus says, “Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father.” Jesus is the perfect image of God, and by knowing Jesus, we come to know God in a personal way. His life, death, and resurrection are key to understanding God’s love and His plan for salvation.

Lastly, knowing God involves personal experience, which comes through the Holy Spirit. In John 16:13, Jesus promises the Spirit of truth, who will guide believers into all truth. The Holy Spirit helps us to understand the Bible, convicts us of sin, and strengthens our relationship with God.

Overall, knowing God is a relationship that grows through faith, reading the Bible, prayer, and experiencing God’s presence in everyday life.
