The presence of God is unimaginable to mankind! If you are a believer, consider the fact that God is with you, beside you, above you, and inside you! The book of Colossian, says that God is the creator and sustainer of all things.
“He is before all things, and in him all things hold together.” Col 1:17
Throughout history, human imagination has depicted God in various forms, some profound and others imaginative. Many Native American cultures have beliefs that connect the wind to spiritual forces or deities. The wind is often seen as a messenger of the divine and a source of inspiration. In Hinduism, the wind, or “Vayu,” is considered a deity and one of the elements of nature. In Norse mythology, Yoruba gods, the Arabs believe, depicted God as thunder. Consider the ancient worship of the sun in civilizations like Egypt, Mesopotamia, Mesoamerica, and the Indo-European cultures. The sun was revered as the god Ra or Re, Shamash, the Vedic god Surya, and Huitzilopochtli. Even in contemporary religions and spiritual movements, the sun continues to symbolise light, energy, and spirituality.
However, in the Bible’s opening chapter, it is written, “In the beginning, God said, ‘Let there be light,’ and it was so.'” Furthermore, the book of Genesis elaborates on God’s creation of the sun, the moon, the stars, and the entire universe (Genesis 1:14–19). As the psalmist exclaims, “Praise Him, sun and moon; praise Him, all you shining stars. Praise Him, you highest heavens, and you waters above the skies” Psa 148:3–4
If the sun and the light are created, the wind and air are God’s handiwork; we have less to compare him with on earth!
A lady at the Alpha course confesses that she is scared of anything ghostly, and many will hesitate to interact with any, even ‘the Holy Ghost.’ The nature and form of God are beyond our finite minds. The book of Acts states, “For in him we live and move and have our being.” Acts 17:28.
On Sunday, we began to look at the manifold presence of God. As an emphasis this morning, I wish to illustrate God’s manifest presence in you and the consciousness of Him in you, on you, around you, and with you!
I said that He sees everything but will not behold iniquity; He is everywhere but will not stand in the company of the ungodly; He encompasses all, yet remains unknowable and hidden to many, except to His own.
The more you expose yourself to Him, the more you experience Him. The more you surrender to His will, the more you see His hand around you. He is beneath you, above you, around you, and in you!
God is with you, beside you, above you, and inside you!
Wow! the transcendent and immanent of the divine God!
God of all creation!
The earth could not contain Him yet He is in us; the world do not know Him yet we do- beyond all knowledge.
