Faith is comprehensively described in the Bible as a combination of four elements: word revelation, heart conviction, right declaration, and right action, leading to a desired outcome.

Faith begins with revelation from the Word of God. As we meditate on the Scriptures, we receive promises and insights that transform our understanding and expectations. This revelation brings about heart conviction. The conviction then prompts us to make right declarations, speaking life and truth over our circumstances. Finally, this leads us to take actions aligned with our faith, resulting in the manifestation of God’s promises in our lives.

Consider the story of the woman with the issue of blood in Mark 5:25-34. She heard about Jesus (revelation), believed in her heart that touching His garment would heal her (conviction), declared her belief (declaration), and acted by reaching out to Him (action). As a result, she was healed (outcome). This simple yet profound sequence shows that faith is indeed accessible and practical.

Hebrews 11:1 defines faith as “the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” Faith involves seeing the invisible and believing in God’s promises before they manifest in the physical realm. Hebrews 11:27 speaks of Moses, who “endured as seeing Him who is invisible.”

God often communicates through visions and dreams. Numbers 12:6 says, “When there is a prophet among you, I, the Lord, reveal myself to them in visions, I speak to them in dreams.” Job 33:15-17 also speaks of God instructing men through dreams. These visions and revelations bolster our faith, providing divine insights and assurances.

The Scriptures are a primary source of faith. Psalm 119:18 pleads, “Open my eyes that I may see wonderful things in your law.” As we immerse ourselves in the Word, our faith is strengthened, and our perspective aligns with God’s promises.

Ephesians 1:17-18 prays for “the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened.” The Holy Spirit imparts revelation, helping us grasp and walk in faith.

Basically, faith is a blend of revelation, conviction, declaration, and action, producing God’s desired outcomes. It’s about carrying out word-based responsibilities to experience word-based possibilities and seeing as real what is not yet real to bring it into reality.

Let us pray: “Father, thank You for Your Word. I receive the grace to operate in faith and to walk in faith. Reveal Yourself to me and help me know You deeper, for in knowing You, my faith is fuelled and my life transformed.”
