The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them.” Psalm 34:7

Just like your own personal bodyguards, the angel of the Lord are there wherever you are, prepared to safeguard and rescue those who honour Him. Whether at home, in town, or even in the midst of a battle, God’s angels are always present with you. Hebrews 1:14 says, angels are ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation.

In 2 Kings 6, we witness Elisha, a prophet of God, receiving privileged insights from God regarding enemy plans. He conveyed this intelligence to the king of Israel, ensuring they were never taken by surprise in battle. When the enemy discovered this, they besieged Elisha’s city. Yet, Elisha remained composed, aware that the Lord’s angels outnumbered the adversaries. Even in dire circumstances, the unmistakable nature of God’s protection was evident.

Elisha prayed for his servant’s eyes to be opened, revealing the mountain teeming with fiery chariots – a testament to God’s formidable angels ready to defend.

“And Elisha prayed, ‘Open his eyes, Lord, so that he may see.’ Then the Lord opened the servant’s eyes, and he looked and saw the hills full of horses and chariots of fire all around Elisha.” 2 Kings 6:17.
Paul prayed a similar prayer for believers: “I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe.” Eph 1:18-19

Dear brother and sister, always remember that, like Elisha, we are surrounded by a multitude of angels, poised to fortify our protection in any situation.

Affirm this: I declare that I am strengthened by God’s incomparable power, and I walk confidently in His unwavering faithfulness. With assurance, I trust in His power, ever prepared to defend and deliver me from harm. I find my refuge and fortress in the Most High, resting securely in His shadow. Indeed, I declare: “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Amen.
