“But Jesus often withdrew to lonely places and prayed.” Luke 5:16
There’s something powerful about being alone with God. It’s in those precious, quiet moments that we draw closer to Him, tune into His voice, and find the strength to conquer the challenges of life. Every believer needs this time. In solitude, God meets us, just as He met Moses in the wilderness, refreshed David during his quiet moments, and spoke to Elijah in the stillness of a cave. Even Jesus, in the midst of His busy ministry, sought solitude to connect with His Father.
As the year draws to a close, now is the perfect opportunity to hit reset. Life can get overwhelming, but in God’s presence, we are renewed. We find clarity, peace, and fresh vision for what lies ahead. Isaiah 40:31 says, “but those who wait on the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” Those moments of stillness with God are where we lay down our burdens and gain the strength we need to step boldly into the future.
Jesus showed us the way. Though constantly surrounded by people and demands, He understood the importance of taking time to step away, recharge, and realign with His Father. If Jesus, the Son of God, needed these moments of solitude to connect with the Father, how much more do we?
Spending time with God doesn’t have to be complex—it’s about making space. Find a quiet place, open your heart in prayer, and dive into His Word. Psalm 46:10 says, “He says, ‘Be still, and know that I am God.’” Whether you’re reflecting on the past year or seeking His guidance for the next, this is the time to let God fill you with His peace and vision.
As you prioritise this sacred time with Him, you’ll discover peace in His presence and the strength to face the new year with courage and confidence. God is eagerly waiting to meet with you—so make room for Him, and let Him guide your steps with joy!
