A heart at peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones” Prov 14:30.

This scripture addresses the effects of envy on both the victim and the perpetrator, shedding light on the devil’s objectives in promoting it. The devil despises the abiding peace of God that fosters unity and satisfaction.

As we step into this new day, let us boldly confront the subtle thief seeking to rob us of our peace—envy. Envy, a crafty intruder, whispers comparisons and fosters discontent in our hearts. Today, let us refuse to succumb to its sly advances. The devil promotes it on Facebook, celebrates it in X, and monitors it on Instagram.

Pause for a moment and bask in the abundant gifts that God has graciously bestowed upon you. Envy’s deceit lies in counting the blessings of others while turning a blind eye to your own unique journey. Do not allow this thief to steal your peace, for, as the scripture declares, “A heart at peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones” (Prov 14:30). Remember, a peaceful heart contributes to both physical and emotional well-being. Envy, on the other hand, corrodes from within, breeding disorder and every evil practice (Jam 3:16). It’s a distraction that hinders your ability to appreciate the strides you’ve made and the distinctive path you are walking.

The Bible advises against comparing ourselves to others; recall the wisdom in Galatians 6:4-5: “Each one should test their own actions. Then they can take pride in themselves alone, without comparing themselves to someone else, for each one should carry their own load.” Your journey is uniquely yours, and your progress is worthy of celebration.

Reflect on the story of Joseph in Genesis 37. Despite his brothers’ envy, Joseph’s unique design and God’s chosen purpose for him prevailed. Your time will come, and you will be celebrated. Resist the urge to act out of envy and instead embrace humility, valuing others above yourselves (Phil 2:3).

Today, affirm that you are uniquely designed and chosen for glory. Revel in your journey, celebrate your progress, and trust in the divine timing that orchestrates your path to greatness. The story of Daniel stands as a testament to the resilience that flourishes in the face of envy. Though envy surrounded him, and he was reported to authorities and plotted against, Daniel’s progress could not be hindered. Remember, it’s not uncommon for progress to attract envy. Daniel faced adversity, yet he did not allow it to impede his journey. Instead, he continued to pray, maintaining his unwavering faith. In a remarkable turn of events, God used the very envy aimed at him to elevate and promote him. When people envy you, do not be deterred.
