“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written: ‘For your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.’ No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Rom 8:35-39
Wow! This is an encouragement! In the midst of life’s challenges, we can hold onto this truth – ‘nothing can tear you away from God’s love.’ Your faith might face challenges, but remember Paul’s own struggles. He said, ‘We are hard-pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed!’ 2 Cor 4:8-9
Our saviour Jesus understands and shares in the human experience, having faced temptations and challenges just like us. Hebrews 4:15-16 says, “For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathise with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.”
See this, the bible echoes Paul’s confidence: “Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion.” Phil 1:6. This is a promise that the work God started in you is heading for something beautiful if you don’t quite.
So, dear friends, in the storm of uncertainty, stand firm. You’re not alone. Your journey is marked by an unbreakable bond with God, a work in progress destined for greatness, and a shield of faith protecting you. Let this truth be your anchor and encouragement today.
