“And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places.” Ephesians 1:19–20
There is a power available to us — not just any power, but an exceeding power. What does that mean?
Exceeding power is the supernatural strength of God that goes beyond what we can imagine or measure. It’s the same mighty power that raised Jesus from the dead and placed Him in glory at the right hand of God. That power defeated death, shattered darkness, and set eternity’s course in motion. And the amazing truth is that this power is not reserved for some distant, unreachable place — it is available to us who believe.
The apostle Paul writes in Ephesians 1:19–20 that this power is working in believers today. It’s a power that changes our weaknesses into strength, our fears into boldness, and our limitations into victory. It is not just for big miracles but for everyday living — to help us stand firm, to help us overcome temptation, and to walk in the calling God has given us.
Sometimes we grow weary, and that’s okay. Even Jesus took time away to pray and be renewed in the Spirit. When we wait on the Lord — trusting Him, seeking His presence — He renews our strength (Isaiah 40:31). Like eagles rising on powerful wings, we can soar above our struggles. We can run without growing weary and walk without fainting.
If today your strength feels small, remember that God’s exceeding power is ready to fill you up and overflow through you. It’s not about striving harder but about trusting deeper. Ask Him to pour His resurrection power into your heart, and watch how He lifts you higher than you thought possible.
Prayer:
Lord, I thank you that your power is exceeding and beyond my understanding. When I am weak, be my strength. When I am weary, renew my spirit. Fill me with your resurrection power so that I may walk in victory and shine your light in every place I go. Help me to wait on you and trust that your power will carry me through every challenge. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
