But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him.”
1 Corinthians 12:18

In the wild, the cheetah, leopard, and jaguar may seem similar at first glance—powerful, spotted big cats. But look a little closer, and you’ll see each one has been shaped for a distinct path.

The cheetah is built for speed, capable of reaching 96 km/h in a matter of seconds. It’s not the strongest or most robust, but it excels in short bursts of breathtaking pursuit. The leopard, on the other hand, is a master of stealth and agility. It can carry prey heavier than itself up into trees and thrives by adapting to its environment. Then there’s the jaguar, stocky and muscular, with a bite strong enough to crush skulls. It doesn’t rely on speed or stealth—its power ends the hunt in a single, decisive blow.

Three cats. Three unique designs. One extraordinary world.

And just like these animals, God has shaped each of us differently. Some of us are like cheetahs—quick to respond, full of energy and initiative. Others are like leopards, quiet strategists who blend in but leave a lasting impact. Some are like jaguars, steady and strong, built to bear burdens and face battles with courage. None is greater or lesser—each one fulfils a specific purpose designed by the creator.

Our text says, “But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him.” God has placed each of us where we are for a reason. Just as the cheetah isn’t meant to climb trees like the leopard, and the leopard isn’t meant to crush bones like the jaguar, we aren’t called to live someone else’s calling. We are called to be faithful with what God has given us.

Psalm 139:14 says, “I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” You are not a mistake. Your gifts, your limitations, your personality—they are all part of God’s perfect plan. He doesn’t ask you to run someone else’s race. He simply calls you to walk faithfully in the path He has set before you.

Don’t compare. Don’t envy. Embrace how God made you, and trust that He knows what He’s doing. You are part of His great design. Be who He created you to be, and in doing so, you’ll glorify Him. The Bible says, “For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.”
2 Corinthians 10:12. Comparison breeds discontent. But when we trust God’s design, we find peace and purpose.

So today, take a moment to thank God for how He made you. Reflect on the truth that your worth and value are not found in comparison, but in Christ. Walk confidently in your calling, knowing you are fearfully and wonderfully made.
