His Kingdom Forever

A couple of weeks ago, we began studying the kingship and priesthood of believers. We explained that it is a corporate mandate, foreshadowed by David and brought into fulfilment by Christ, our High Priest. Through Him, we have been made kings and priests unto God.

In this hour, we are witnessing a prophetic stirring—an awakening in the Body of Christ to her Davidic inheritance. The Lord is calling His Church to rediscover not just her individual identity, but her corporate mandate as a covenantal people—set apart, Spirit-filled, and appointed to reign in righteousness and mercy.

Isaiah 55:1–5 speaks powerfully into this moment:

“Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters… I have given him for a witness to the people, a leader and commander to the people. Behold, thou shalt call a nation that thou knowest not…” Isaiah 55:1, 4–5

This divine invitation is more than a call to personal revival—it is a summons to covenantal kingship, rooted in the “sure mercies of David” (Isaiah 55:3). The Lord is calling His Church:

– To come again to the waters of life—to drink deeply from His Spirit, receiving refreshing, clarity, and commissioning.
– To embrace our calling to rule—not with passivity, but with joyful alignment to the King’s heart.
– To rise up with a mission to the nations—a people prepared to carry His presence to unfamiliar places, reaching those yet unreached.

This is the inheritance of David: a kingdom built on intimacy, obedience, and boldness. David was not only a worshipper, but a ruler; not only a psalmist, but a warrior. His life formed a prophetic template for the New Testament Church—a company of priests who reign, and kings who worship. “And I will raise up thy seed after thee… and I will establish his kingdom.” 2 Samuel 7:12

The Church today is being summoned into that same spirit—to reign not as scattered individuals, but as a unified house, carrying both the harp and the sceptre. This is not a man-made movement; it is the Spirit of Christ drawing us into maturity. “He that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.” 1 Corinthians 6:17

We are no longer called to live beneath our calling, nor to pursue it in isolation. The Davidic anointing is corporate in nature. It flows where there is covenant, where hearts are aligned in love and obedience, and where leadership serves the purposes of God and the good of His people.

Just as David gathered mighty men—not for personal glory but for Kingdom advance—so now Christ, the greater David, is gathering His Church into divine formation. Every member has a part. Every gift finds its place. Every nation will be touched as the Church walks in unity and power. “Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness…” Psalm 110:3

This is a day of holy willingness. A day to say yes to the Lord afresh. A day to receive the oil of kingship and the garments of priesthood, not for private honour, but for public mission. The earth is groaning for a Church that knows who she is and walks in the mercies of David—faithful, fearless, and fruitful.

Let us therefore step into this prophetic season with hearts ablaze. Let the thirsting come. Let the called arise. Let the Church take her place—not in isolation, but in covenantal unity, filled with glory, and crowned for influence. “And I will make an everlasting covenant with you…” Isaiah 55:3

This is our inheritance. This is our time. Let us reign together, for the glory of our King.
