Our text this morning reveals the depths of God’s compassion and His active desire to bring His people out of bondage. In Exodus 3:7–10, we hear the voice of the Almighty saying,

I have surely seen the affliction of my people which are in Egypt, and have heard their cry by reason of their taskmasters; for I know their sorrows; and I am come down to deliver them… unto a good land and a large, unto a land flowing with milk and honey… Come now therefore, and I will send thee unto Pharaoh, that thou mayest bring forth my people the children of Israel out of Egypt.”

This mighty declaration from the throne room of Heaven reveals that God is not distant. He is intimately involved, moved with love, and ready to act on behalf of His people.

This passage uncovers four foundational truths that form the bedrock of our liberty.

First, God sees. He sees every silent tear, every hidden battle, every burden we carry. Nothing escapes His notice.

Second, He hears. Even when we feel like our prayers go unheard, He is listening to every whisper of anguish and every cry of desperation.

Third, He knows. Not just in a detached or distant sense—He knows our sorrows personally, deeply, and with a heart inclined to heal. The bible says, In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them.”  Isaiah 63:9
For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities…”  Hebrews 4:15

Finally, He comes down. He does not remain aloof; He intervenes. He breaks chains, shatters yokes, and lifts us out of oppression into glorious freedom. David testified:

O Lord my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me. O Lord, thou hast brought up my soul from the grave…” Psalm 30:2–3
The deliverance God offers is not partial—it is total, complete, and breathtaking in its scope. He promises to remove every trace of affliction and oppression, to destroy every oppressor, to wipe away every tear, and to heal every sorrow. He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and brake their bands in sunder.”  Psalm 107:14

But He doesn’t stop there. He doesn’t only bring us out—He brings us in. Into a land of promise, fruitfulness, and joy. A land flowing with milk and honey.

He brought us out from thence, that he might bring us in, to give us the land which he sware unto our fathers.” Deuteronomy 6:23

Affliction and oppression are not abstract concepts. Affliction is pain, distress, and misery—often born of sickness, loss, or persecution. Oppression is the misuse of power, designed to weigh us down, crush our spirits, and trouble our peace. These forces seek to harass, torment, and keep us stuck in cycles of frustration and fear. Yet, thanks be to God, deliverance is not only possible—it is promised, and it is coming. “.. weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.” Psalm 30:5

Affliction and oppression can manifest in many ways. Some are on a mission to destroy—relentless attacks designed to steal, kill, and destroy. Others stem from generational issues or unconfessed sins, crying out for judgment. Some are aimed at robbing us of peace and stability, like the constant suffering of the woman with the issue of blood. Others come through negative words or curses, creating invisible barriers that hinder progress. There are also spiritual bondages born of demonic covenants, attacks that challenge our very faith, and trials that show up right at the edge of breakthrough—just before victory manifests.

To walk in true liberty, we must also confront the root causes of affliction. Unconfessed sin can block our deliverance and keep doors open to oppression (Isaiah 59:2). Not all troubles are self-made, at times, persecution may come simply because we stand for righteousness. And spiritual warfare is inevitable for anyone aligned with God’s purpose. There are also ancestral covenants—old pacts and spiritual agreements that must be broken by the power of Christ’s blood. (Colossians 2:14)

Yet, the promise of freedom remains. As Joel 2:32 declares, “And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be delivered.”

But freedom must be claimed. We begin by repenting—confessing, renouncing, and forsaking sin. We renounce every satanic covenant, knowingly or unknowingly entered into, and declare Jesus Christ as Lord over our lives. Then we cry out to God in faith, knowing He hears, He knows, and He will respond.

If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.” John 8:36
Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free…  Galatians 5:1

In the name of Jesus, I declare that every affliction, sorrow, and oppression in your life comes to an end. Every evil covenant is shattered by the blood of Jesus. Your destiny is released into glorious liberty. You are being repositioned into your own land flowing with milk and honey. Your life shall testify—God delivers, and He does it completely.

Heavenly Father, we lift our voices in thanksgiving for the liberty you have made available. Hear the cry of your people. Let every burden be lifted, every chain broken, and every heart filled with joy. Relocate us into the fullness of your promise, and let our lives shine as testimonies of your mighty deliverance. In Jesus’ glorious name, Amen.

Let this be the day you walk in freedom. Let this be the season of your liberty.
