Remember His Faithfulness!

“Only be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them fade from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children and to their children after them.” Deuteronomy 4:9

“Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits.” Psalm 103:2

When our dreams seem delayed, it’s easy to lose sight of what God has already done. We forget the vision he placed in our hearts. We forget his faithfulness, his power, his presence. The Israelites fell into this same trap in the wilderness:

“When our ancestors were in Egypt, they gave no thought to your miracles; they did not remember your many kindnesses, and they rebelled by the sea, the Red Sea. Yet he saved them for his name’s sake, to make his mighty power known… But they soon forgot what he had done and did not wait for his plan to unfold.”Psalm 106:7-8, 13

How could they forget so quickly? God sent ten plagues to free them from slavery, yet as soon as they reached the Red Sea, they panicked: “We’re all going to die!” Then, after witnessing the sea part before their eyes, they forgot again and cried, “We’re going to die of thirst!” God miraculously provided water, yet moments later, they worried about food: “We’re going to starve!”

It’s easy to judge them, but don’t we do the same? When life gets tough, we act as if God has never come through for us before. But he has—and he always will.

This morning, the Bible encourages us to remember his promises! There are over 7,000 of them, each one greater than any problem we face. When you feel discouraged, stand on his Word:

“If we are faithless, he remains faithful, for he cannot disown himself.”2 Timothy 2:13 (NIV)

God’s promises never fail. His delays are never wasted—they shape us, prepare us, and fulfill his greater purpose. If you’re waiting, trust him. He is not holding back; he is working all things together for your good.

So today, make this your declaration like David:

“Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits.”Psalm 103:2
